  • Event features top South African wine producers and food vendors

Cape Town’s autumn events calendar continues to draw attention, with the Pick n Pay Wine and Food Festival set to return to Constantia, bringing together leading wine producers and a full weekend of curated tasting experiences.

The Pick n Pay Wine and Food Festival is set to return to the Constantia Valley later this month, offering visitors a curated experience that combines some of South Africa’s leading wine producers with a wide range of food offerings.

Taking place over two days at the Claremont Cricket Club, the event forms part of Cape Town’s broader lifestyle and tourism calendar, which continues to attract both local and visiting audiences.

Organisers have positioned the festival as an accessible entry point into South Africa’s wine landscape, allowing attendees to sample a diverse selection of wines while engaging directly with producers.

Each ticket includes a tasting glass and a set of twenty wine tasting tokens, with the number of tokens required per tasting linked to the value of the wine. This structure allows for flexibility, enabling visitors to explore both entry-level and premium selections.

The event also features a range of food vendors, offering pairings designed to complement the wines on offer and create a more immersive experience.

Access to the festival is structured across the day, with early entry available to Pick n Pay Wine Club members, followed by general access in the early afternoon. Tastings will run until late afternoon, with food and wine sales continuing into the early evening.

Organisers have confirmed that the event is restricted to attendees over the age of eighteen, with identification required on entry. A designated driver ticket option is also available, allowing non-drinkers to attend without participating in wine tastings.

Beyond the immediate event, festivals of this nature play a broader role in supporting the Western Cape’s tourism and hospitality sectors, particularly as the region enters the shoulder season between peak summer and winter months.

With continued interest in food and wine tourism, events such as this are increasingly positioned as both lifestyle experiences and economic contributors to the region.
