Highlights
  • Cape Town City winless in last 3 matches
  • 37 points from 22 games, 2 points off play off spot
  • Milford lead with 40 points after dominant win
  • Casric Stars close behind on 38 points

Cape Town City are under increasing pressure to return to winning form as the Motsepe Foundation Championship enters a decisive stage.

Cape Town City’s recent dip in form has seen them slip to 5th position on the log, with 37 points collected from 22 matches. A run of 3 games without a win has stalled their momentum at a critical point in the season, placing their promotion ambitions under threat.

The Citizens recorded draws against Milford and Venda Football Academy in recent fixtures, before suffering a 3 to 1 defeat earlier in March. These results have left them 2 points behind the promotion play off positions, increasing the importance of their upcoming match against Black Leopards.

With the season approaching its final stages, every point is now crucial. A positive result in their next fixture could see City move back into contention, while another setback may further complicate their push for promotion.

At the top of the table, Milford continue to lead the standings with 40 points from 22 games. Their recent 5 to 0 victory has reinforced their position as strong contenders for automatic promotion.

Casric Stars, currently in 4th position with 38 points, remain firmly in the race after securing a 4 to 0 win in their latest outing. The narrow gap between the top teams highlights how competitive the league has become.

Elsewhere, the battle at the bottom of the table continues, with Baroka sitting in 16th position on 18 points, just 3 points from safety. Midlands Wanderers, placed 14th, are also under pressure as they remain only 3 points above the relegation zone.

With multiple teams still in contention at both ends of the table, the coming fixtures are expected to play a decisive role in shaping the outcome of the season.
